HVACR 101 - Technician Level I Training

The course will introduce participants to Smart Family of Cooling Products, important contacts and contact numbers. Participants will discuss and demonstrate proper safety checks when completing initial set up and walk through. A large focus will be placed on electrical theory, diagrams/schematics and troubleshooting electrical issues. Participants will review the basic refrigeration cycle and its major components.

Upon course completion, students will be able to:

  • · Properly set up SFCP AC units
  • · Demonstrate proper procedures for AC start up.
  • · Identify all major electrical components.
  • · Explain the purpose of all major electrical components.
  • · Ability to diagnose basic electrical issues.
  • · Read and interpret SFCP wiring diagrams.
  • · Read and interpret SFCP piping diagrams.
  • · Identify major and auxiliary refrigeration components.

This is an in-person class composed of classroom lectures as well as hands on training.

HVACR 102 - Technician Level II Training

The course will introduce participants to Smart Family of Cooling Products, important contacts and contact numbers. Participants will discuss and demonstrate proper safety checks when completing initial set up and walk through. A large focus will be placed on refrigeration theory and refrigeration cycle, electrical diagrams/schematics and advanced troubleshooting electrical issues. Participants will learn the proper techniques of oxyacetylene brazing along with proper safety practices.

  • Identify all major electrical components.
  • Explain the purpose of all major electrical components.
  • Ability to advanced diagnostic skills to troubleshoot electrical issues.

  • Read and interpret SFCP piping diagrams.
  • Identify major and auxiliary refrigeration components.
  • Calculate superheat and subcooling to verify proper refrigerant charge.
  • Demonstrate proper oxyacetylene brazing techniques and safety procedures.
